The Foreign Economic Relations Department and the Asian Development Bank jointly organized an online meeting for the Tripartite Portfolio Review Mission with the aim to assess progress and challenges of ADB-financed projects in Myanmar via Video Conference on 22 December 2020. This meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Aung Moe Chai, Deputy Director General of Foreign Economic Relations Department and Mr. Newin Sinsiri, Country Director, ADB Myanmar Resident Mission.
At the meeting, the representatives from ADB presented the project implementation status, portfolio progress, challenges facing by executing agencies(EAs) and implementing agencies(IAs) during 2020 and also the key findings regarding the financial management and audits. Representative from Environmental Conservation Department presented the government’s new guidelines for safeguards-related public consultations during COVID-19. Moreover, the relevant officials from the respective government agencies responded to the questions raised by the implementing agencies during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by approximately 50 participants including the representatives from Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Sports, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Office of the Auditor General, Yangon City Development Committee, Mandalay City Development Committee, Foreign Economic Relations Department and ADB.
